Document Management + Editing: Inline Editing for Document Files + Viewing MS Office Hack
As todays implementation of EditorODF seems to be not working well/at all, a real support of Inline document editing is needed badly.
Just like software like UltraRecall can both display and edit stored documents in this format.
APIs ect. should be available for this AFAIK.
For MS Office, at least viewing can be done without harming MS copyrights, with using the IE engine just like UltraRecall does.7 votes -

Right click context menu for all files and folders displayed in the desktop clients.

Explorer context menu integration
Like a Send-to Tagspaces menu in right click menu. With options to move or copy files, and maybe other important menu points i dont think of ATM.

Group by functionality of grid view would be useful in the list view too.

Individual Tags inherit Group colour initially. Can be overridden.

Capturing content from the web for all!
Diaspora from services such as Evernote led us to Tagspaces… So it seems kind of counterintuitive having to rely on the Google browser extension to capture from the web…
Please concentrate on the open web, thats where your true potential is…

Treat date/time tags as first-class citizens
It would be nice if TagSpaces treated the "date/time" tags as actual dates rather than plain-text tags. For example, if I have 3 files:
file1[tag 20131231].pdf
file2[some-tag 2014].pdf
file3[some-other-tag 20140512].pdfIt would be nice if TagSpaces automatically determined those were date tags and allowed you to do special things:
- Search for all files within a particular date range. For example, searching for all files from 2014-01-01 through 2014-12-31 would return both file2 and file3. Searching from 2014-07 through 2014-12 would return only file2, etc...
- Show the first date/time tag as a separate column in the list perspective.

add different programming language syntax highlighter in mardown using Prism
I use MacDown (http://macdown.uranusjr.com/) to create mardown file. Because it supports both MathJax and syntax highlighter for different languages, such as C++, R, SQL and so on.
My hope is that I can use MacDown to create Macdown notes when learning different programming languages and use TagSpaces to view/organize notes.
MacDown uses Prism (http://prismjs.com/) to show syntax highlighting. I think we can consult them to add this function. If someone can help to develop this feature, I really appreciate.
If someone can add MathJax, it would be even better!

Expand Keyboard Shortcut Support
Customizable action example via photoshop
Easily readable TXT menu with customized shortcuts exampleBasic keyboard shortcuts were recently added, but I would greatly appreciate having comprehensive support for creating a keyboard shortcut for any and all actions in Tagspaces. I photoshopped a quick picture of how this might look. Clearly this might be an involved feature, but I see it as the single most important in terms of productivity.
Benefits?
- Multiple actions assignable per entry
- Greatly reduced reliance on GUI and point/click interface

I just started using this software. It is awesome. The following are my suggestions for ease of use
It would be nice to see tags for multiple folders at the same time. Currently i am using the dropbox as my storage for my TrueCrypt cotainers. So, I mount each of the containers as required. Currently i have to swich I had to swith between the folders to see the get a glance of the docuements. If we can do this it would be this would be a great software that works in collabaration of TrueCrypt/Dropbox.
Please add shortcurts for windows application to add tags. Currently, it is tedious to add lots of tags with lots of clicks

SAVE to TagSpaces from any software
Some kind of OS level hack perhaps? Options:
a) in any save dialog give file name with tags in it like: "myfilename #busy#offer#markhamilton.docx"
b) in any save dialog after enter popup visual TagSpaces tag dialog to input desired tags

Allow plug-ins or extensions to be developed and added by users to Tagspaces
It would be so much easier to develop a lot of these great ideas if we could write, use, and share our own plug-ins!

Delete multiple files
Selecting multiple files only seems to work for copy/move operations. Please allow for deleting multiple files.
This will of course make it even more important to implement support for the recycle bin.1 vote -
Ability in "View" to show/hide/collapse any and all Gui elements.
I love being able to compact the Gui.

More clarity about how it works on website before download.
Hello. I just installed the Mac versions and I'm excited to dig into the Tagspaces ecosystem. I have been relying on Evernote for a couple years now and although it's a beautiful piece of work I do have 2 issues with it. A) I'm concerned about security/privacy of data and B) I don't know how to extend it to a larger body of data (old photo libraries etc). Adding "open natively setting"
It would be awesome to add an ability to set "open natively" setting to certain file types, for example to .mp4 videos open in VLC or .mp3 files to open in Winamp by simply double-clicking the file:)
