  3. Make it really portable

    TagSpaces can be installed on Windows, Mac OS and Linux, which makes it pretty portable, but here I am asking for another kind of portability, with the following properties :

    • Use relative paths
    • Use only the installation directory to store configurations

    This would allow the installation of TagSpaces on thumb drives, so we could make use its system-portable nature to its full extent :)

    (I only tested it on Windows, so it is maybe just a problem with the installer for Windows.)

  7. Allow for tab aliases

    Sometimes I might not be consistent with my tagging - for example, I may use "Paris" and "ParisFrance" as tags for different files. It would be nice to translate "ParisFrance" to "Paris" (or vice versa, per user specification).

  9. Use or sync native OS X tags

    If TagSpaces doesn't already use or sync with native OS X tags, would you consider it? Maybe even just a static import/export feature?

    It would help to avoid extra work, duplication, etc, but I'm thinking mostly about off-loading the feature set of your OS X app. Some other software can do X with native tags, so it won't be a must for you to integrate. It would also feel a lot more future-proof. Even though TagSpaces is cross-platform open source (=brilliant), if OS X development falls behind at some point, it won't be as much of a problem. Thanks!

  13. Click in tag group area, and start typing to create new tag.

    In any event, pressing Enter confirms tag deletion instead of having to leave the keyboard to click the check mark. (REALLY annoying having the page reload and the new tag text disappear instead.)

  15. Add an OR expression to the search

    I would like to search for files that have alternatively a tag or another. It would be great if we could create a more complex expression to match tagged files.The problem can be solved with a simple separator pattern (like "|") which create an alternative search criteria.

    Example: a search like "+foo | +bar baz | -qux" should find files that are, alternatively:
    tagged with "foo" ;
    tagged with "bar" and have "baz" in the file name;
    not tagged with "qux".

  16. Opening a note in a new window

    I don't know how feasible this is with node.js but I would love to be able to open a note in a new window. I used to do this with Evernote and I enjoyed having this ability. I could open several notes in several windows and work this way.

    On the hosted version, the note could open in a pop-up.
    On the Android version, I don't know...

    Thanks

  17. Send deleted files to recycle/trash bin rather than permanently deleting.

    It appears that when you delete a file it is immediately permanently deleted. This could cause a problem with a user accidentally deleting files, especially when deleting multiple files. On desktop clients, it should be easy to just send the deleted files to the recycle/trash bin. This would give the user a chance to recover accidentally deleted files from the trash bin.

  18. allow multi-select files to be enqueued in the native application (send to a playlist)

    Allow for a selection of files to be enqueued in the default program - basically would allow multiple files to be sent to a media player as a playlist selection.

  19. Sugestion : make it possible in the webdav version to copy the location of a dir so when moving files you can paste the destination.

    when i try to move files the chooser is not yet implemeted
    so by copying a location and pasting it in the targed dit window it would help to organize.

  20. Choose default opening mode

    It would be nice if I could choose the default way of opening files in Android. In my case, for example, "open file natively" is the best opening action for txt files.
