  1. Retain the checkmark on files that have been selected

When I select a number of files and add a tag to all of those files the checkmark/selection is removed. This is a pain if I want to add multiple tags to those exact same files. Right now I have to go back thru and reselect them before adding another tag.

  2. Make it possible to edit a tag and have that change applied to all tags in the perspective

Let's say I have created a tag on the left panel and I've applied it to 100 files. But then I realize that the tag is misspelled or there is something else wrong with it. I need a way to either delete the tag from all files I have added it to, or a way to update the tag in one place and have that change reflected in all the files that that tag has been applied to in the perspective.

  4. Blog how to import note attachment from Evernote with tags [Linux]

    Hello,

My name is Spleenico and the idea I would like to suggest is to blog an how-to to explain how to import notes from Evernotes together with their tags for direct use with TagSpaces.
I made a script that worked for me and I would like to share it if it can help more people.
I suggest the team to check my code and if they think it is a good idea, to publish it. The code and the explanations can be freely changed and distributed as long as the script header (authorship, GNU General Public License) is maintained.

  6. Enable sync of tags between devices; e.g. app could refer to remote config file of user's tag strings stored in DropBox

The app could refer to remote config file of user's tag strings; user stores the config file in a Dropbox folder. At install of Android device app or PC browser plugin, the user is prompted to create a config file on the PC or locate a pre-existing one (e.g. the one in DropBox). The app then imports tags found in the pre-existing config file, enabling a consistent approach.

  7. Integrate with web services for ACLing / sharing models

The primary limitation of TagSpaces compared to other cross-platform note and file management tools is the lack of collaboration support.

If files could either be exposed in cloud file management systems (e.g., as a Drive compatible app) or could (via OAuth) represent those services as Locations, and display the files within them (e.g. SkyDrive or Google Drive docs), it would avoid confusion of whether to create a doc within TagSpaces or cloud-side if the user needs to collaborate on it with others.

  8. Detect file updates and update preview / edited version in realtime

Put your TagSpaces projects into a Dropbox, Drive, or Box folder and they sync fine between devices.

But if the file changes on disk due to editing it on a separate device, the open TagSpaces app doesn't notice - the user's file preview doesn't change.

Worse still, if the user has it open for editing, leaves, edits it on another device, comes back, and closes it on the first device later, TagSpaces doesn't even warn them that the file on disk has changed, and they may lose all of their changes from the remote device.

    This FR is for the…

  9. Auto-save notes while editing (explicit 'Save' not required)

Auto-save has become common on desktop notetaking and editing applications, because of the risk of app crashes, OS crashes, running out of battery on laptops, etc. OpenOffice and Word now have this by default, and even more obscure apps like Inkscape offer it in Settings. Same for web apps like Google Drive.

It's actually hard to force myself back into the motions of hitting Ctrl+S every few minutes in TagSpaces; would prefer to have it save automatically as I type.

  11. smart tag ideas

Folder - grabs the name of the folder that file is in and tags it with that

Video Resolution - grabs whether file is 480p, 720p, 1080i, 544p, etc by reading file metadata and tags it with this resolution tag (i.e. Fringe 720p) with option of adding another tag called HD if above 720 and removing existing 720p if there and placing in filename tag block

Document Type - based on file extension it adds tag of Document, Picture, Video, Audio, Diagram, SourceCode, etc

  14. Quick File Creation

It would be cool to start taking notes with a one click without creating file via dialog. Filename can be autogenerated or so. Also it would be cool if there were no dialog prompt on saving file

  17. Tag support for multiple word names

    Hi,
Firstly thanks for this awesome app. I was looking for an evernote alternative that i can use on linux. And surprisingly, although not mentioned by many linux blogs, Tagspaces is the closest one can get to evernote.
I could have used evernote using Wine, but i will prefer apps that have versions for Linux.

Tagspaces does almost all the jobs.

Only niggle, that kept me from shifting permanently to Tagspace, is the inability to add multiple words in the same tag.
I am a medical physician. For example if you need to add a tag ' Blood sugar' in…

  18. Add preview for IPython notebook file

Add preview for IPython notebook file.
IPython provides a rich architecture for interactive computing.

    http://ipython.org/

IPython notebook is a browser-based notebook with support for code, text, mathematical expressions, inline plots and other rich media into a single document.

These notebooks are normal files that can be shared with colleagues, converted to other formats such as HTML or PDF, etc.

You can share any publicly available notebook by using the IPython Notebook Viewer service which will render it as a static web page. This makes it easy to give your colleagues a document they can read immediately without having to install…

  20. Caching tags added

    Hi,

I am currently using the experimental feature:
"calculate tags from the current search results"

I have bigs directories with many files and some tags
I want a cached last tags added to tagspace because now it crashes in one case:
Adding a new tag to a file and recalculate to integrate it into tagspace

Thank you for this great software I'm talking about me

    Regards
