  1. add a checksum automatically to each file details and make it searchable

It would be nice when each file gets an md5 or sha1 -sum generated and saved into details. This could be used to show duplicates, tag them as duplicates etc.

  3. Allow storing all sidecar files in a central location

Big fan of the concept with a preference that I'd love to see added..

Can we store the sidecar files in a separate folder from the rest of the files?

Imagine a "shadow" directory structure stored in an independent location which houses the .json/.ts files so that they don't crowd the directories which are in use. They wouldn't need to mimic the entire system's structure, only any folders/files that TagSpaces is interacting with (any files that have tags etc.)

I fully understand if (1) Platform APIs don't facilitate this or (2) this does not fit into the vision for this…

  4. Please remove or put a toogle for that stressful and counterproductive "move on the fly" tags function

That new function for moving directly a tag by drag n drop into a same file looked to be a good idea, but the execution is a total mess. Unwanted moves on surrounding tags, many bugs, puts a total mess in tag libraries...

You should have tested it before release it on last production version, it really makes drag n drop totally unusable. I pass 70% of my drag n drop time to correct ans rectify unwanted modifications, this is really a shame.

So I'll probably add manually the tags with keyboard direcly in file names, it will be far…

  5. "Replace tag by another one" mass option

Instead of delete a tag and add another one right after, we could add an option to automatically replace all specific tag's occurencies.
Example : If you want to replace "Awesome" tag by "Outstanding" tag, you just have to right clic on the tag ans select "replace by" option. Right after, all files with the obsolete tag will be automatically renamed with the new one.

  7. able to search for a file or import multiple tags to a file using the sidecar .ts json file

Instead of manually adding multiple tags into the search bar, could there be an option to use the tags in a .ts file and import it into the search bar to search for multiple tags at once.

Instead of manually adding tags to a file, we could use a .ts file to import multiple tags to a file at once.

    Why is this useful:
1)when i want a file to inherit all the tags of another file
2)when i want to ensure that I do not accidentally create a file that has the exact same set of tags as my…

  9. Save searches

It would be nice if it would be possible to save searches so that they could re-applied later more easily.
All the search parameters as well as the folders information could be saved under a given name. Later, when we want to perform this research again, then it will only be required to click on this "saved search" in order to perform it.

  10. whether their called tags, #hashtags, googletags, keywords this form of meta-data is ubiquitous. How can we make a universal standard?

OS filesystems like Mac OS X have filesystem tagging (terrible) but what happens when we move that file to Windows or Linux. We lose the tag data.
Applications like Notes Apps (Evernote etc), Todo list/PM tools (Jira/Ashana/Ora) all have their own bespoke tagging implementations -sometime using tag groups or multi-level tagging, sometime combining with categories but rarely is their ian yinteroperatleabaility between these aps whern it comes to tag meta data. Websites with CMS systems like wordpress have tags too. Wouldn't it be great if you could author your post in a markdown add relevant tags and publish to the…

  11. Custom Key Bindings for Tags in V3.0

    Hi,
Such a great program so far! I’ve been using the 2.9 version and haven’t upgraded to 3.0 specifically for 2.0’s ability to bind keys to specific tabs. I’m wondering when you guys are going to reinclude this feature in 3.0 as I love the speed and interface and new functions of 3.0! Thanks for your hard work!

  12. Please provide tag-search behaviour as in 2.x Version

As in Version 2.x I could enter the tag-names in the search-text-field indicate with a "plus" before and tagspaces looked up all files with this tags in it

    "+ebook +gradle"

    "+" indicates a tag

The case of the search tag was ignored. I could search like this with all the same result:
    "+ebook +GRAdle"
    "+Ebook +Gradle"

Now I have to enter these tags in a separate search field. Is there a technical reason for this change? Please provide this old fast and easy way to search for the information again in >=3.x Version.

  13. new Files: Determine Save Location from Tags

New Created Files Save-Location should be determined from tags. Lets say you tag a folder with tag "tagspaces", then a new created File should automaticly has this folder pre - selected as save-folder in the create dialog. If there are more directory matches, than show all of them for selection.

This would help me to search deeply in my folder structure for the right folder for new Files.

Please ignore case when Searching for Tags. The Searchfunction for Tags in 3.0.1 is case sensitive. Or make a property for case ignore for searches.

  15. Thumbnail for Folders

It would be great to have Thumbnails for Folders.

These could be somehow generated automatically (or use the last picture) or at least to select it manually in the properties together with the folder description.

  16. Vector file thumbnails, please

Right now Tagspaces seems unable to view any thumbnails of vector files: CDR, AI, EPS, WMF, SVG, etc. It can see previews, but I'd rather not have to click on a thumbnail to see them since it slows down my design process (I have thousands of vectors & use many in each project).

  17. add a keyboard shortcut for creating "New HTML File"

The shorcut for the function "New Text File" is Ctrl+Alt+N (on Windows)
This is VERY useful for quickly creating text notes, but there are no shortcuts for HTML, Markdown or Audio.

I'd be happy with just the shortcut for HTML File, because that's what I use. But it would be nice to have shortcuts for all the formats. Or the abbility to choose which format is used when the shortcut is pressed.

  18. Chrome TagSpaces Web Clipper with option to embed URL and date on clipped files

I was hoping this would work similar to Evernote's Clearly, which when clipping from the web appended the data with a date and URL to the original source.

Apparently this works in Firefox, but I can't find the option in Chrome, would it be possible to implement this?

Right now I am saving a page to PDF (using Chrome's print to PDF option) and editing the description in TagSpaces to include the URL, which isn't very efficient for web clipping.

  19. MHTML Thumbnail Generation

I like the idea of thumbnails for all files containing text/images.

Taking copies for webpages in MHTML format seems like useful file format (it's available in the TagSpace chrome extension if I save a whole page). Yet no thumbnails are generated for this file format, making it useless for me (I'm currently saving clipped pages as PDFs instead/which unfortunately aren't as easily editable but have useful thumbnails).

Thumbnails show for HTML files, so can it show for MHTML to make the file format more useful in TagSpaces?

  20. Zoom thumbnails - via CTRL + 'mouse scroll wheel'

I was hoping this would be implemented the same as many other pieces of software (Lightroom, Windows Explorer etc). That is, the ability to zoom with a keyboard combination and the mouse scroll wheel' Usually CTRL + 'wheel forward to zoom in/backward to zoom out'.

Right now I have thumbnails, that aren't terribly useful as I can't zoom in to read the contents for tagging.

Using a 'ctrl + mouse wheel' for this option would be usful for navigation, as it'd enable the user to drill down, by scrolling to a point, and then zoom back out very quickly.
