An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedYes, looks like there is a certificate problem. https://tagspaces.uservoice.com seems ok though.

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedWhat about an accordion style Menu: http://ui-patterns.com/patterns/AccordionMenu
It would need to be able to expand with file drag-over so you could explore subfolders and then choose which to drop it into - seems like a decent touch compatible option. Also, XYPlorer has a genius file tree option that allows for turning on/off visibility of folders in the tree that are not frequently used. Might be a little fiddly / require zoom/scroll initially on touch but when patterns are established the tree would be minimal/touch friendly. Not sure if XY team would share code for this, but could ask.
Finally - all could be solved if we could just use a separate window with native or third party file browser of choice. We just need to be able to drag files out of Tagspace window and ontop desktop/etc. If there is any way to enable this it would solve a ton of issues.
and p.s. the one-app to cover all platforms concept is neat, but realistically I fear that so many compromises will be made for the sake of universality that the app will not be able to truly soar on any platform - I think it may be best to make some degree of customization on a per-platform basis - I'm sure that's a nightmare for a developer but TagSpaces has so much potential - want to see it do well.

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedI.e. mobile versions of the app could have option to view file tree structure and associated tags, even add / change tags, but files would remain on host system unless you specifically requested download of one particular file?
If that is what you are going for it sounds awesome. -

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedGenius way to do this would be to harvest tags from gmail. Should be do-able through API. I use Sparrow and this app has had access to gmail tag data even before google bought it out.

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedYes, this is the major limit for use for me. As nice as tags are we still need to use basic file management tools too. A few steps that would help:
1. The Copy/Move option is only available in list view - please add it to grid view
2. Allow drag and drop of files from list and grid view into location subfolders
3. Consider either porting in an OS file system manager on the left instead of the customized location format or at least allow drag and drop integration with the OS file system manager so I could open a separate file system window on the OS and drag files out of the grid or list view and move them to other folders easily.the j supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedYes. It feels unnatural that this doesn't already work this way.

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedYeS! This would be better than the current manual "export json" option. Just have a constant json that syncs with the files (however the user syncs those files).

An error occurred while saving the comment the j commentedAnd an option for natural language cues when searching for a tag. Ie. typing in bill would bring up the tag William. Typing in Park would bring up Yellowstone. Of course this could be turned off when you knew exactly what tag you were looking for.

Also, please allow synchronization of the tag database between the chrome browser plugin and the desktop app. When I start typing a tag name in the chrome plugin it should reference the JSON library from the desktop app to suggest completions of partial tags.
