3 years later ... search tags !
Thank you for this maj 1.7.6 for Ubuntu 13.10. it works :-)
1 / Saving a File
After downloading or creating a libreoffice file, I put in the file name:
myName [tag1, tag2]. odt
2 / Search tagspace
3 years later, I can not remember the name of the tag (tagA, tag1, tag22 ...)
I go to a folder (the file is located in a subfolder)
I would like
Display a list of tags from my folder and subfolder
(possibly with the file name). Very quickly I found my file :-)
Regards
In general the creation tag in tagspace takes too long with too many tags and it is not the right time

Hi,
Ok, thank you again for the quick response. I will use less fat directories to add tags.
The cache becomes a wish for the future

Hi,
currently tagspaces does not use any kind of caching. Everything you see in the application is "live" data from your storage. If you add a tag in e.g. nautilus, you have to reload the folder in order to see the changes / new tag addition.
cheers,

Hi,
super awesome :-)It worked with a directory and subdirectory and several 371 files
Still experimental because I planted tagspaces with a big directory and dozens of subdirectory and thousands of files. I waited 15 minutes and if I click on an icon nothing moves
Is there a an index (or caching) when files is reopened?
How is adding a new tag via the file manager (nemo, nautilus). It rescans all or immediately see the changes in the files? Thanks

You can create tags in the tag groups pretty fast. For adding many tags at once, just split them by a comma.

Actually the requested feature is already available in the application, but is not activated by default. You have to go to options and then to the tab experimental and here you will find a checkbox called: "Calculate tags from the current search results". By activating it an extra tag group will be created in the tag library, listing all the tags found in the current folder or current search results.
