This particular issue "You must open the tag with one click and edit by right click." is fixed for the next release.

    Hi,

TagSpaces was never intended to work with 4000 files in a single directory. This amount of files is challenging even Windows Explorer or Macs Finder. The apps works smoothly with up to 1000 files. If the files are images, it tries to generate thumbnails of visible images in the perspective, so if you have a directory with 1000 files it will generate thumbs only for visible ca. 20 images. If your images very big this takes some time. In the PRO version the tags are generated and persisted, so if you open a directory again, it will load the generated thumbs and this is very fast. Here I can only advise you not to have so many files in single directory, just split them in subfolders.

TagSpaces does not reload the files on tagging, here you are using probably an older version and have some configuration issue.

As of the file renames, we are currently not able to reproduce this issue.

    kind regards,
    Ilian

To point 1: Currently you can set a default perspective for a given location, in the location edit dialog. We can add a checkox in the settings to open the tag library by default.

To point 2: Adding sorting capabilities to the grid perspective is a good suggestion.

To point 3: An AND search criteria is already on our todo list.

To point 4: Currently you can export only the tag groups from the tab general in the setting, later you can use the tag import functionality in the tag group menu to import them.

Point 5: this is known issue, we are trying to find soon a solution for it.

To point 6: We will think about implementing this feature.

To point 8, we are working on a feature which will provide default colors for a given tag group, so every new tag in this group will have these colors per dafault on creation.

To point 7, this is for sure a feature we will have to think about, you not first one mentioning the need for it.

    Hello,

our team was in vacation, so we were not able to respond to user feedback, with the needed speed. Please excuse use. We are very thankful for you feedback!

To point 9, changing the tag order is already implemented and can be initiated from the context menu of every tag in the list perspective or in the file viewer. You will find there command such as "Move tag to left".

    kind regards,
    ilian

Providing a cloud sync service was never in focus of application. Currently there are many services like Google Drive or Dropbox which can be used in combination with TagSpaces.

TagSpaces is working directly with files and directories from your file systems, so you can find your "export" there .....

Thanks for tips. The XMP format looks very promissing, but it appears that the current implementations are mainly for images and PDF. The js implementation of the exiftool supports currently only reading of the meta information for images. So it is a long road to have XMP integrated in TagSpaces for all file types. But I can imagine to integrate the exiftool.js in the TagSpaces image viewer soon.

TagSpaces is designed with extensability in mind. It is actually based almost entirely on extensions. There are three types of them, perspectives for folder visualizations, editors and views. There are all located in the data/ext folder of the github repository. So feel free to develope extensions yourself and share it with the community. If you have any question, I will be glad to support you!

The only reason why this is not a default action are the performance concerns, if you are using TagSpaces of on a hude directory tree. In such case the search can take a while. You can still search the subfolder by adding ? in front of the tag query. For example, the query ?+tag1 will search the current folder and all subfolders for files tagged with "tag1"

for this use case we have implemented drag and drop of tags from tagged files to other files in the same view.

in the next version of the app (1.9.x), the name of the parent directory of a file, will be considered in the search results. This makes every word in the parent directory name act as a tag for all directly contained files.

You can already manually create links in the HTML and MD editor to local file urls and internet urls. What I also miss is a possibility to choose to which files I want to link, some kind of dialog. Another challenge is to handle renamed or tagged files after they have been linked. There should be a logic to update this links which is not so easy....
Links to section is also a great idea...

A file move and copy functionality was added to the current version 1.8.5 of TagSpaces.

What do you mean by a "dedicated folder where storage tagged files". Is it related to file move?

I am currently not allowing tags in the directory because the length of the file path including the directories is limited in the most of the common files systems. But if you wish to add some information to a directory just add the word you need to its name. Here you are not restricted from TagSpaces. In feature releases of TagSpaces I am planning to consider the name of the parent directory in the search results, so every word added to the directory name, will be considered as a "tags" for all direct children/files of a directory.

This is difficult to implement because of the way TagSpaces stores the tagging information. I am thinking of a tags called for example "sealed", which ones added to a file, will prevent the addition of further tags. This will make linking to this files more meaningful.
