smart tag ideas
Folder - grabs the name of the folder that file is in and tags it with that
Video Resolution - grabs whether file is 480p, 720p, 1080i, 544p, etc by reading file metadata and tags it with this resolution tag (i.e. Fringe 720p) with option of adding another tag called HD if above 720 and removing existing 720p if there and placing in filename tag block
Document Type - based on file extension it adds tag of Document, Picture, Video, Audio, Diagram, SourceCode, etc

I have seen some similar software concepts which are making use of a smart tag system. The tags were just never right in my opinion.
I think this idea goes against the philosophy of the concept of tagging, which is: Everyone tags in their own way.
I don't think any system will ever be able to smart tag for everyone. I guess it might be possible to do it for one person, but as soon as that becomes 2 persons a 100% accuracy won't be achieved.
If something like this is to be implemented, it should be in a non-obtrusive way. And there should be an option to disable/hide the smart tags (and not use them in search).

For Document, audio/Photo/media files, the files own meta data would be a great source!
Havent tested yet if this works now, but this would be great, and a logical step.. -
