Make an easy interface for linking documents to one another. Make it possible to add links to sections in a document.
I'm attempting to use TagSpace as a documentation management tool. I would like to be able to:
Make links to other documents (which should be possible noting that the links are anchor elements, but having an interest in keeping these paths relative, I'm not sure that Tagspaces contains the logic to understand that the top most folder/linked data location is the root of all the documentation. allow multi-select files to be enqueued in the native application (send to a playlist)
Allow for a selection of files to be enqueued in the default program - basically would allow multiple files to be sent to a media player as a playlist selection.

Add an OR expression to the search
I would like to search for files that have alternatively a tag or another. It would be great if we could create a more complex expression to match tagged files.The problem can be solved with a simple separator pattern (like "|") which create an alternative search criteria.
Example: a search like "+foo | +bar baz | -qux" should find files that are, alternatively:
tagged with "foo" ;
tagged with "bar" and have "baz" in the file name;

A close cooperation with Recoll semantic desktop search and Zeitgeist (action search)
tagspaces is quite supreme
just discovered the best GUI for such app. - congrats for the easy to use GUI and overall functionality.
beside other good ideas regarding attachments - shapes / icons and marks - it will be perfect if you can integrate recoll search engine with your tool. It will be the perfect match at least on Linux based systems. It will find not only tags but term occurences also ...

Add option to hide "hidden" files/folders
Besides the common files like desktop.ini and default.rdp, some users will mark a file as "hidden" so it doesn't show up. There are others who will want to see their hidden files (maybe in a different color) so I do recommend leaving this as a toggle option but it's definitely something I would like.

I use calibre to organize my ebooks, will be rigth the posibility to get the libary files with his tags.

Add a 'rebuild tags' option in settings to search for lost tags
Add functionality for tagspaces to search the folder for all existing tags and dump them in a generic tag group. This will help with finding orphaned tags from folder imports or manually tagging via the OS file explorer.

Dark Mode
Tagspaces have a really light and bright UI. I often like more dark or gray UI's so I would really like to see a dark mode.

Vector file thumbnails, please
Right now Tagspaces seems unable to view any thumbnails of vector files: CDR, AI, EPS, WMF, SVG, etc. It can see previews, but I'd rather not have to click on a thumbnail to see them since it slows down my design process (I have thousands of vectors & use many in each project).

Expiration date
Special tag format like [exp:201412] to indicate expiration date and ease cleanup. Useful for warranty tickets, etc... One could imagine a special folder to "forget without delete" the expired docs.

Enable sync of tags between devices; e.g. app could refer to remote config file of user's tag strings stored in DropBox
The app could refer to remote config file of user's tag strings; user stores the config file in a Dropbox folder. At install of Android device app or PC browser plugin, the user is prompted to create a config file on the PC or locate a pre-existing one (e.g. the one in DropBox). The app then imports tags found in the pre-existing config file, enabling a consistent approach.

Make it possible to open files natively in a single action and expand the key bindings
One of the things I dislike the most about TagSpaces currently is that in order to view a file that isn't supported by the internal file viewer (and quite a file formats are not supported right now), you have either open the 'File Operations' menu and select 'Open File Natively' or open a preview of the document and then select 'Open File Natively'. I think you should be able to make a key binding for 'Open File Natively' as you are currently able to do with a variety of other functions in TagSpaces. In fact, now that I think about…

Application scaling (zoom)
TagSpaces takes up a lot of pixels on my screen to display... a rather small amount of information. I know that's the way a lot of modern apps are going and I do find it aesthetically pleasing but when I go to use an application I need it to take up as little space as possible so I can fit more on my screen at once. The simplest method would probably be a button selection allowing "Tight", "Normal", and "Loose" similar to how Gmail has the Settings --> Display Density --> Comfortable/Cozy/Compact options. How to get version control ?
I find version control essential to have peace of mind. I would ideally want tagsapce to make a backup of my latest changes in case I make a poor manipulation.
I don't expect Tagspaces to implement any soon - plenty to do already- but I was wondering if there would be a third party solution for doing that. Has anyone done it? what tool do you use?
This FR is also a suggestion for a blog post on the topic to help others build that perfect stack of software for note management :) Thank you
