Capturing content from the web for all!
Diaspora from services such as Evernote led us to Tagspaces… So it seems kind of counterintuitive having to rely on the Google browser extension to capture from the web…
Please concentrate on the open web, thats where your true potential is…

file naming template support
I do scan all paperwork - all files have the same format:
"date - company - subject.pdf"
A translation of this to tag spaces would be great cause it would easily allow displaying all stuff from a month, company or regarding a certain topic.

Thumbnail for Folders
It would be great to have Thumbnails for Folders.
These could be somehow generated automatically (or use the last picture) or at least to select it manually in the properties together with the folder description.

Minimize tagspaces to tray in Linux
I am a linux user (Xubuntu) and I started to use tagspaces a lot and for a busy desktop it would be sensible to add a feature that mimimises the application to the tray. This is a feature that I liked a lot in ZIM Desktop Wiki before switching to Tagspaces.

Custom tag name format/style
Please add an option to change the tag name format which is added to the filenames.
Currently all tags are added within brackets at the end of the filename.
example: filename[tag1 tag2 tag3].ext
Cons:
- it's very hard to search for single tags with the default explorer search, if you use common tag names which can be found in an usual filename. For example if you work with abbreviations as tags just to reduce the filename length.Example (very simple because my main language is not english ;-):
library inv 2016[lib 2016].txt (inv=inventory)
amazon invoice 2016[inv 2016 business].pdfYou can't…

smart tag ideas
Folder - grabs the name of the folder that file is in and tags it with that
Video Resolution - grabs whether file is 480p, 720p, 1080i, 544p, etc by reading file metadata and tags it with this resolution tag (i.e. Fringe 720p) with option of adding another tag called HD if above 720 and removing existing 720p if there and placing in filename tag block
Document Type - based on file extension it adds tag of Document, Picture, Video, Audio, Diagram, SourceCode, etc

Use or sync native OS X tags
If TagSpaces doesn't already use or sync with native OS X tags, would you consider it? Maybe even just a static import/export feature?
It would help to avoid extra work, duplication, etc, but I'm thinking mostly about off-loading the feature set of your OS X app. Some other software can do X with native tags, so it won't be a must for you to integrate. It would also feel a lot more future-proof. Even though TagSpaces is cross-platform open source (=brilliant), if OS X development falls behind at some point, it won't be as much of a problem. Thanks!

Detect file updates and update preview / edited version in realtime
Put your TagSpaces projects into a Dropbox, Drive, or Box folder and they sync fine between devices.
But if the file changes on disk due to editing it on a separate device, the open TagSpaces app doesn't notice - the user's file preview doesn't change.
Worse still, if the user has it open for editing, leaves, edits it on another device, comes back, and closes it on the first device later, TagSpaces doesn't even warn them that the file on disk has changed, and they may lose all of their changes from the remote device.
This FR is for the…

Per-tag CSS files (a power-user feature)
This feature would entail the ability for the user to specify CSS that applies to all HTML (or roundabout HTML, such as MD) files with a specific tag.
Aesthetic Benefit
For example, I would want the MD files for the documentation of the videogame I'm working on to match a particular color + font scheme.
For all documents tagged Code, as in code samples, I would want white text on a black background.
Practical Benefit
In order to get the most practical benefit out of this feature, an additional feature would be necessary: In the HTML WYSIWYG, the Styles dropdown…

Single click to open a note should be an option
In many other note taking apps (evernote, etc), single click is the default to open notes. I find it faster than double click. This won't make as much sense until auto-saving is implemented although, that way you don't have to interact with saving dialogs.
You can make it only clicking on an non-interactive area, such as the title field or anywhere but the check mark cause the default open action.

Make an easy interface for linking documents to one another. Make it possible to add links to sections in a document.
I'm attempting to use TagSpace as a documentation management tool. I would like to be able to:
Make links to other documents (which should be possible noting that the links are anchor elements, but having an interest in keeping these paths relative, I'm not sure that Tagspaces contains the logic to understand that the top most folder/linked data location is the root of all the documentation. It would be nice to create some text, highlight it, select link, pull up a dialog to ask for a resource locater and let that be a FILE,HTTP, etc reference. If it is a…9 votes -
Add an OR expression to the search
I would like to search for files that have alternatively a tag or another. It would be great if we could create a more complex expression to match tagged files. The problem can be solved with a simple separator pattern (like "|") which create an alternative search criteria.
Example: a search like "+foo | +bar baz | -qux" should find files that are, alternatively:
tagged with "foo" ;
tagged with "bar" and have "baz" in the file name;
not tagged with "qux".9 votes -
Add SRS Learning View
I love Anki but I dislike the lockin to its Webservice to sync. My suggestion is to add a view which uses Tags on special datafiles to allow Spaced Repetition / Leitner Karteikarten system functionality. To be a match with Anki the LaTeX feature would be tequired.

Add a 'rebuild tags' option in settings to search for lost tags
Add functionality for tagspaces to search the folder for all existing tags and dump them in a generic tag group. This will help with finding orphaned tags from folder imports or manually tagging via the OS file explorer.

Support relative links and external images with Ritch text editor
When editing HTML files with the ritch text editor allow local file links, especially with relative paths, like "c:\some\folder\path\file.ext" or "..\relative\path\to\file.attachment".
Currently an "http://" is automatically edited whether the user wants to or not, one has to manually edit the source to achieve this. Also using external images in HTML is some times beneficial, allows sharing, and reduces file size like img src="..\relative\path\to\image.jpg". This also making the file not take ages to open in the source editor because of loading all the image.
