Delete multiple files
Selecting multiple files only seems to work for copy/move operations. Please allow for deleting multiple files.
This will of course make it even more important to implement support for the recycle bin.1 vote -

beside other good ideas regarding attachments - shapes / icons and marks - it will be perfect if you can integrate recoll search engine with your tool. It will be the perfect match at least on Linux based systems. It will find not only tags but term occurences also ...

More clarity about how it works on website before download.
Hello. I just installed the Mac versions and I'm excited to dig into the Tagspaces ecosystem. I have been relying on Evernote for a couple years now and although it's a beautiful piece of work I do have 2 issues with it. A) I'm concerned about security/privacy of data and B) I don't know how to extend it to a larger body of data (old photo libraries etc). I applaud your work so far on an alternative that addresses the security concerns. It looks fantastic. But, it took me awhile to figure out how it works. In fact, it was…

Expanded treeview functionality, please!
2014 ushered in a 'new' wave of organizational tools; modeled after OrgMode. Workflowy / Moo.do / GTDNext are web apps where the primary backbone is dynamic outlining and tagging. In particular, I love the ease of organizing my ideas and projects in an outline / tree, with smart use of tagging for search/filter/time planning.
These tools are beautiful and functional because of their simplicity and unlimited branching into subtrees. But they all suffer from the limitations of plain text. That is, I might still want to integrate photos, spreadsheets, etc. To work around that, these tools are beginning to explore…

File hashing
Save file hash to the metadata. In cases that the file is moved or paths change, the metadata won't be lost.

Add action "hide files with this tag"
In the tag menu, an option "hide files with this tag" could be added. this would be particularly useful for GTD tags (e.g., hide 'done') or ratings (e.g., hide 1-star).

Display pixel dimensions of pictures in list view
I am trying to sort HQ pictures from low quality pictures and tag them as print quality vs. web quality. It would be nice to be able to display and sort by dimensions.

Allow Drag & Drop Opening of supported Preview File-types
Allow dragging of pdf/jpg/other supported preview files onto the tagspaces shortcut in windows to directly open that file in the preview window. This would also allow apps like the scansnap manager to send scanned paperwork directly to TagSpaces for tagging.

Use or sync native OS X tags
If TagSpaces doesn't already use or sync with native OS X tags, would you consider it? Maybe even just a static import/export feature?
It would help to avoid extra work, duplication, etc, but I'm thinking mostly about off-loading the feature set of your OS X app. Some other software can do X with native tags, so it won't be a must for you to integrate. It would also feel a lot more future-proof. Even though TagSpaces is cross-platform open source (=brilliant), if OS X development falls behind at some point, it won't be as much of a problem. Thanks!

Add an OR expression to the search
I would like to search for files that have alternatively a tag or another. It would be great if we could create a more complex expression to match tagged files.The problem can be solved with a simple separator pattern (like "|") which create an alternative search criteria.
Example: a search like "+foo | +bar baz | -qux" should find files that are, alternatively:
tagged with "foo" ;
tagged with "bar" and have "baz" in the file name;
not tagged with "qux".9 votes
